Adoption Process
Wags N Wishes adoption procedure is designed to find a good match between the dog and adopter. Our goal is a lifelong match between a loving human and a furry baby. The adoption procedure includes the following steps:

The completion of an application

An interview with one of our volunteers

A get acquainted meeting with the dog and all family members, including other pets

A home visit - virtual

If renting; landlord approval confirmed by Wags staff
Adoptions are typically local; it is not required if the correct circumstances arise. Applications must be filled out in advance to meeting our dogs as we need to review whether your situation is a great fit for our furries.
Wags N Wishes Rescue incurs substantial veterinary and other expenses in rescuing and rehoming our dogs. Our average cost is about $800 per dog rescued but can be as high as several thousand dollars for certain dogs that require orthopedic or other surgery or specialized care. In order to recoup some of these costs, we require a non-refundable tax-deductible donation for the adoption of each dog.
Our doors are always open if it is not a right match, we want our pups to be loved, safe and happy.

By applying through the link, it allows the application to auto upload you into our system! This helps speed up the approval process so you can bring your new furbaby home even quicker.
Adoption fees are paid through your mobile phone with ShelterLuv or in cash. All animals come with their vaccine history, microchip history, etc. emailed to you at the completion of the adoption.
